Prison Moms
For one hour, for three days, women who have given birth in prison are allowed to see their babies. Then the children are sent home to family or placed in foster care. This is one hour of one of those days.

A prisoner greets her newborn baby for the first time.

The greetings are short but deeply felt for both mother and child.

The mother's try to hold on to the moment before their hour is over.

Their hour is over.
